Disable Automatic RAID Rebuild on Intel Embedded Server RAID Technology 2 (ESRT2)
If a dying hard drive is causing your RAID to rebuild constantly and bringing your server to a halt, follow the procedure below to manually disable the auto rebuild feature.
Boot the server up and press Ctrl + E when prompted for Intel Raid Configuration Utility.
Select Objects, then Adapter, and from their you’ll see the Auto Rebuild option. By default it is set to On, switch it to Off, then continue to boot server.
It is recommended to install the graphical Intel RAID software, Intel RAID Web Console 2. From this console you can then start a manual rebuild once you replace the drive.
